Happy Holley-day! Holley Performance Offers Free Track Time For Time Trials Nationals

Have you ever had a company just hand you a track day, completely free? Unless you’re a highly paid factory test driver, probably not.

What if we told you Holley Performance was ready to do just that?

Holley has been the undisputed leader in fuel systems for more than 100 years, and now they’re ready to help you out! Anyone entered in the 2019 Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals presented by Hagerty at National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park can now show up on Thursday, September 26 and test absolutely free!

With Holley’s help, the SCCA has done more than just open the track, however. The SCCA and other partners are going to give you tips, provide seminars, make coaches available and generally help you learn how to test, rather than just drive around all day long.

“Holley Performance has a great relationship with NCM, and they want to give us a day at the track,” Heyward Wagner, SCCA Senior Director, Marketing and Experiential Programs said. “Their only request was that we did not charge anyone for the day. So, thanks to Holley, we now have a free test day open to anyone who is registered for Time Trials Nationals. More details will continue to come out as we approach the day, but we’re excited to offer this opportunity to Time Trials Nationals participants.”

The details: The track will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with each hour split into novice, intermediate, advanced and pace laps. The pace laps, with a session every hour, are a great opportunity to ride the track with an advanced driver or instructor and get tips on corner entry or ways to improve.

Throughout the day, SCCA partners and professional drivers will conduct seminars to help you go faster when the clock starts on Saturday’s timed sessions.

SCCA Starting Line instructors will have a skid pad set up to provide in-car instruction on your vehicle’s dynamics, grip management and how to put a corner together that will translate on track.

And, if you’ve wondered if your car needs a set up adjustment or if you’re getting the most out of your car, Thursday is the perfect day to put a faster (or equally as fast!) driver in your car and let them shake it down for you.

The best part? Come when you can. Registration is open all day. You can participate in the full day; you can come at 3 p.m. and run one session. That’s entirely up to you!

All of this is included in the $395 entry fee for the 2019 Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals presented by Hagerty. The official event runs Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29. There will be two 20-minute practice sessions and two 20-minute TimeAttack sessions on Friday, a TrackSprint Saturday and Sunday morning and two more TimeAttack sessions Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The best times from each pair of TimeAttack sessions plus the best run of each TrackSprint will be combined to determine finishing order and the top three in each class and overall stand on the KONI Podium and take home the trophies.

This is an event for everyone, classed by car and driver. Registration opens on Wednesday, July 17 at noon Central and is expected to be a sold-out event by the time the green flag flies – so don’t delay!
