Time Trials Nationals: It's go time!

Set your reminder!

Registration is now open for the 2020 Tire Rack Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty taking place September 24-27 at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The event—capped at 250 competitors—promises four days of fierce competition, friendly camaraderie, and fun (socially distanced) off-track festivities.

Want more? We’ve got it.

Variety is the name of the game. We’ll be kicking off the season-ending Time Trials Nationals with a dedicated practice day on Thursday where competitors can grab three 20-minute sessions to get comfortable on track and get times that’ll set grid positions for the first of three 20-minute Time Attack sessions on Friday.

Saturday is devoted to TrackSprint, but we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves! This year competitors will be put to the test on two different sections of the track instead of one (hint: we’re looking to test all your skills).

Sunday will see a return to Time Attack sessions following our small group format; half the cars out on track for a handful of flying laps—just to make sure everyone has a chance to see what they can do in true Time Trials fashion.

The best times from each of the four event segments—one Friday Time Attack, two TrackSprint times from Saturday, and Sunday Time Attack—will be combined to determine who stands atop the KONI Podium at the end of the weekend.

And, in addition to the on-track action, the usual off-track festivities—modified, of course, to keep everyone safe—will offer up all the socially-distanced brews and bites you can handle, compliments of our good partner Hagerty. Even better? Camping is encouraged and there are showers on site, so you can call NCM Motorsports your home for four days straight if that’s what makes you happy (or comfortable).

The 2020 running of the Tire Rack Time Trials Nationals marks the third year for the event, and the continuation of a decade-long agreement with NCM Motorsports Park to host it through the 2028 season. Last year’s running was the Nation’s largest Time Trials event with almost 200 competitors and rave reviews. Officials expect the 2020 running to close in on the 250-car entry cap.
