Looking Ahead: PittRace Time Trials National Tour – and More!

“Mash-up” is a word you usually don’t want to hear when it comes to motorsports. But in the Sports Car Club of America®, it’s a good thing! Mash-up is the term used for a single weekend that brings together multiple SCCA pursuits for a carnival-like weekend of fun.

The upcoming End of Summer Showcase Festival is one such event, hosted by SCCA’s Steel Cities Region, taking place Aug. 24-27, 2023, in Wampum, PA, at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace) located about 40 minutes north of Pittsburgh. Those four days will include a Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack event, two Regional Autocrosses, a Regional Road Race and Drivers' School, and the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour at PittRace Powered by Hagerty (TTNT).

This isn’t the first year for the End of Summer Showcase Festival, and it’s poised to be an immensely popular event once again. So TTNT enthusiast: It’s best to click the button below ASAP to get registered and reserve your place at the party.

TTNT Plans

The TTNT PittRace schedule for on-track action opens Saturday morning with a TrackSprint session for all entrants. That’s followed by 15-minute practice sessions on PittRace’s 1.8-mile, eight-turn South Track. Saturday afternoon will then see two 15-minute TrackAttack sessions on the South Track.

Later Saturday, there will be 20-minute practice sessions for all drivers on PittRace’s challenging, undulating 2.78-mile, 19-turn Full Course. The day will then come to a close with food and drink for all End of Summer Showcase Festival attendees thanks to the Hagerty Social Party.

Sunday morning opens with 20-minute TrackAttack sessions on the Full Course, followed by another series of 20-minute TrackAttack sessions on the Full Course in the early afternoon. The weekend then wraps up with the KONI Podium Celebration.

More to Do

If you’re looking for more track time – or diverse ways to have #funwithcars – then the End of Summer Showcase Festival is the place to be. And if you want to be part of the party without getting behind the wheel, think about volunteering to help make the whole shindig a success.

Track rats or TTNT drivers can gain some time on the Full Course Friday afternoon, Aug. 25, by joining in on a PittRace Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack. Register for that event here – and remember that only TNiA eligible vehicles can participate. (Also remember that SCCA members automatically get $20 off any Track Night entry.)

For road racers, there’ll be a Competition Drivers’ School taking place Thursday, Aug. 24, through Saturday, Aug. 26. That school is part of the End of Summer Showcase Festival Regional Road Race, which is included in the United States Touring Car Championship and Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series.

Regional road races are scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday races will run on PittRace’s 1.6-mile North Track with a half-dozen turns, then Sunday’s action takes place on the Full Course. And for open-cockpit or other race cars not eligible for TNiA, Steel Cities will be conducting a special Track Event for those vehicles and drivers early Friday. Learn more about all End of Summer Showcase Festival Road Race activities here.

If autocross is your thing, Steel Cities Region hasn’t forgotten about you because there will also be two autocrosses over the weekend on PittRace’s six-acre skid pad. Register for the Saturday autocross here; Sunday autocross registration can be found here.
