Time Trials Nationals Kicks Off NOW, and the Action is Already Heating Up

We’ve been waiting all year for this. Longer, actually, since SCCA® announced the 2025 Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals will be moving to Pittsburgh International Race Complex (Pitt Race) in Wampum, PA, more than a year ago. We now stand on the precipice of the 2025 Time Trials Nationals taking the green flag for the Sept. 19-21 season finale, and this could be one of the best years ever.

None of that is to say that Time Trials Nationals of the past have been bad – far from it. Beyond making Time Attack competition accessible to the masses, Time Trials Nationals drivers have raised the level of competition ever since Time Trials Nats kicked off in 2018. This year, though, the big show moves to Pitt Race – a circuit that the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge has competed at for several years, but has never played host to Time Trials Nationals.

Now, with more than 170 drivers registered for Time Trials Nationals, things are about to get serious.

Intense Schedule

The Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals officially kicks off on Friday, Sept. 19, with paced laps around the 2.78-mile, 18-turn full course beginning at 8:30 a.m. local time. Yet that’s not the entire story.

Leading into the 2025 Time Trials Nationals was the Grassroots Motorsports Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge (UTCC), with those cars and drivers beginning their competition the day prior. Thursday wasn’t a UTCC-exclusive day, though, as Time Trials Nationals hosted optional practice sessions that day, with SCCA’s Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack holding a session on Pitt Race’s long course as well.

Back to Friday: Time Trials Nationals drivers hit the racetrack for practice sessions beginning at 8:50 a.m., with the first of two timed track sessions coming just after lunch.

Saturday and Sunday follow suit, with four timed sessions planned for Saturday and three on Sunday before the timekeepers add each driver's fastest session times from the Friday/Saturday sessions together with the fastest time from Sunday, tally the two scores, and send everyone to the KONI Podium and Time Attack Challenge Series Championship celebrations.

Remember, not only is Time Trials Nationals a winner-take-all event, it’s also the culmination of the Time Attack Challenge nationwide points series (here’s how those points stand right now).

Bonus: SUPERFLY will be on hand, bringing a 1990s and 2000s theme car show (and more!) to the event on Saturday – which continues the SUPERFLY festivities that begin Friday night when SUPERFLY hosts an event party.

Also note that this is the beginning of a long-term relationship between SCCA Time Attack and SUPERFLY, so if you can’t make it to this year’s Time Trials Nationals, that doesn’t mean you’re going to miss out on the SUPERFLY action.

All of this is made possible in part thanks to Vitour (the Preferred Tire of the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Series and welcome party host for every stop on the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge series), KONI (presenting the podium celebration), and SCCA’s other official partners, which include Tire Rack, Hagerty, Sunoco Race Fuels, and Hawk.

Keep Up!

That’s a lot going on, and you can keep track of it all via live timing/scoring.
