From Fast Laps to Campouts, the Upcoming Tricky Triangle Time Attack Challenge Is a Can’t-Miss

From Fast Laps to Campouts, the Upcoming Tricky Triangle Time Attack Challenge Is a Can’t-Miss

“Pocono” originates from a Munsee Native American word that means “drive fast and safely.” OK, so it actually reportedly means “creek between two hills,” but for those attending the July 18-19, 2026, Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge, that creek is the winding pavement of a 2.26-mile, 10-turn configuration at the Tricky Triangle in Long Pond, PA.

This is, of course, the third time in as many years that the Time Attack Challenge has made its way to the famous track in eastern Pennsylvania, but unlike in years past, this time drivers will find themselves tackling the North/South Option 2 track configuration both days.

You mean that track layout name isn’t descriptive enough for you to immediately know which it is? If you’ve been there before, we’ve got good news: North/South Option 2 is the fast layout you wish you got more time on. If you haven’t run it before, trust us, you’ll love it.

How do we know you’ll like it so much? For starters, there are more than 60 drivers already on the entry list, and on that list is Jacob Glover, whose lap times from the past two seasons put him second and fifth on the overall record list – amazingly, both in the Sport 1 category.

In other words, this track is so fun, you can’t keep drivers away.

Here’s what it looked like inside his Corvette:

This is a special Time Attack Challenge weekend in another way, too, because it’s also the striking conclusion of SCCA Targa New England and a Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack event, all rolled into one.

In short, it’s gonna be fun.

The Fun Don’t Stop

And the fun doesn’t stop when the checkered flag flies.

On-site camping at Pocono isn’t just available, it’s highly recommended. When the engines go silent, the good times keep rolling. Swap stories celebrating epic laps or commiserating over the perfect lap that could have been, all under the stars in the heart of the Poconos. This is your chance to connect with fellow racers, build lasting memories, and immerse yourself in the spirit of the Time Attack community while meeting Targa troopers and Track Night participants all at once.

It’s Time

The format is the one you’ve come to love: a practice session followed by a total of six timed sessions. Three of those sessions count for “score 1” and three others for “score 2” – check the official schedule for which time goes with which.

And if you’ve waited, or weren’t sure if you wanted to go, for any reason? That’s OK, because you still have time to sign up, and we’d love to see you at Pocono Raceway on July 17-19.
