You can be a part of an SCCA Pro Racing including F3 Americas and U.S. F4 weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex by participating in the SCCA Time Trials Event on track the same weekend. Compete in your own car and between sessions watch the best aspiring pro racers battle it out in pure racing machines.
FAST FACTS
ON-TRACK, drivers will tackle the 2.78-Mile Pittsburgh International Race Complex and vie for the best single lap during TimeAttack lapping sessions. The best times from each session will be combined to determine finishing order.
Saturday Morning Track & Coffee Track Event: If you enter the SCCA Track Event on Saturday morning, there are six 20-minute sessions available during the weekend for as low as $250.00.

Event Rules
A. GENERAL RULES: This event is governed by the 2019 SCCA Time Trial Rules (TTR), National Competition Format and National Classing as outlined at timetrials.scca.com plus the rules and procedures found on this page.
B. PASSING & TRACK PROCEDURES: Groups will use the suggested passing rules and procedures for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Drivers as outlined in the “Rules of The Track” section found at timetrials.scca.com.
C. CLOTHING: Drivers are required to wear the minimum clothing outlined in the SCCA Time Trials Rules. Safe apparel must be worn in the pits at all times (shirts and closed toe shoes). Crew members on pit lane must display their event credentials at all times while on pit lane.
D. PIT LANE: The speed limit on pit road is 25 mph. No tire scrubbing in the pit lane prior to entering the course.
E. DEBRIEFS: Drivers will report to a location TBA for post-session debriefs immediately following each session.
F. FLAG PROCEDURES: Black Flag Station and other event-specific flagging procedures will be announced at the event.
G. EVENT SCHEDULE: Actual session start times may be delayed from the published schedule due to unforeseen circumstances during the event. It is the driver’s responsibility to listen to the PA system and pay attention to activity on track. The schedule or run groups may only be changed (or start times advanced) at the discretion of the Competition Director, with concurrence by the Event Lead, depending on pre-race entry counts or as needed to accommodate situations during the event.
H. COMMUNICATIONS: Radio frequencies used by event officials may be monitored but shall not be used for communication by any participant.
Driver Eligibility
A. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: The event is open to all drivers with a valid state driver's license and a full or weekend membership to the SCCA. If you don't have a membership you can join or include the weekend membership when you register.
B. TIME TRIALS LICENSES: It will help if you have one, but it's OK if you don't. Event officials will work with you to make sure you get one fitting your experience level at the event. (No charge.)
C. NOVICE DRIVERS: Novice drivers with no track experience must attend the SCCA Track Event on Saturday morning.
D. MEDICAL: Please notify the Officials of any pertinent medical condition(s). Any participants involved in an accident in which there is significant damage or any injury, or at a race official’s discretion, MUST present themselves or be transported to the track medical facility for evaluation. Off-site medical transportation fees may apply.
E. MINOR DRIVERS: Drivers 17-years-old or younger can compete, but there is some extra paperwork so please contact Officials before the event and get approval from the Event Lead.
Vehicle Eligibility
A. VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to all vehicles conforming to the National Time Trials Classes.
B. SAFETY: All vehicles must meet Time Trials Safety Level 1 at a minimum.
C. TECHNICAL INSPECTION: All vehicles must be presented at tech to turn in tech forms and pass the event safety inspection (Tech) if required prior to any on-course participation. Tech will verify compliance of Vehicle Identification. Competitors are cautioned that color combinations such as red/black, red/blue, and white/silver do not have adequate contrast.
D. TIMING & SCORING: All cars are required to use fully operational MyLaps/AMB TranX260 or X2 transponders. The driver is responsible for providing correct information to Timing & Scoring. Non-functioning transponders will likely result in the loss of times.
E. RENTAL TRANSPONDERS: Rental transponders are available through registration.
Track Information
Pittsburgh International Race Complex is a multi-venue shared facility. All participants are subject to the Pittsburgh International Race Complex Track Rules and Regulations. Copies of the current Track Rules are available at www.pittrace.com and are posted at the track.
A. PADDOCK, LOAD-IN: The facility gates will open at 7:00 am Saturday Morning. You must leave the facility no later than 7:00 pm Sunday. Use of space in the paddock is subject to the control of Event Officials. When parking in the paddock, only the minimum necessary space may be used. Fire lanes must be kept clear at all times. Entry to the paddock prior to the opening of Registration is under the control of, and at the prerogative of, the track management.
B. CAMPING: Camping may be allowed in the paddock on Friday and Saturday nights and there may be a fee charged by PIRC. Electricity is available in some areas of the paddock. There are no water or sewer hookups available.
Some electrical hookups are available from the track for a fee, these hookups are on a first come basis, contract the track in advance to reserve one. Please do not park parallel to the main paddock roads, all parking is pull in or back in only.
C. GARAGES: A limited number of enclosed garages are available for rent on a first come basis. Contact the track directly at www.pittrace.com or Phone #724-535-1000 for cost and availability.
D. PADDOCK SPEED LIMIT: The speed limit in the paddock is 5 mph for any wheeled vehicle.
E. SOUND: A maximum limit of 103 dB is in effect for this event.
F. QUIET HOURS: Paddock quiet hours are 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. During this time be nice to your neighbors: no free-standing generators running, no dirt bikes, loud parties, etc.
G. PADDOCK VEHICLES: A valid driver’s license is necessary to operate any wheeled vehicle in the paddock, including powered and unpowered scooters. Skateboards, roller blades and roller skates are not allowed in the paddock.
All pit carts, scooters, ATV’s, golf carts, etc. must have their car number and class marked on the vehicle for easy identification as to which car it belongs to, in case it must be moved.
Any motorized paddock vehicle such as a golf cart, ATV, etc. must be “parked at dark” and may not be operated after sunset.
H. FUEL/WATER/AIR: Water, Compressed Air, and Racing fuel are the responsibility of Pittsburgh International Race Complex and are planned to be available at the track.
I. WASTE FLUIDS/TIRES: Only designated automotive fluid disposal barrels, as appropriately marked, shall be used for dumping oil or other automotive fluids.
Competitors are encouraged to bring water and kitty litter (or equivalent) to neutralize spill damage. Spills must be reported to officials as soon as possible.
Do not leave used tires at the track.
J. PADDOCK SURFACES
1. No tent stakes, barbecues, or oil/fuel spillage are allowed on asphalt.
2. Boards must be placed under jackstands to avoid damage to the paddock surface.
3. Competitors are responsible for securing their equipment within their paddock space against heavy winds or other adverse conditions. Owners are liable for any damages caused by their equipment.
4. Any taped lines or marks on paddock surfaces shall be removed before leaving the track. Painting marks on any paddock surface is prohibited.
K. DRONES: No Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s or Drones) may be operated by anyone over the Pitt Race complex without the specific approval from SCCA, the FAA, and Pitt Race.
L. MISBEHAVIOR: Pittsburgh International Race Complex reserves the right to summarily remove anyone from the property who is found using controlled substances or is under the influence of alcohol, or for any other reasons they may deem necessary.
M. FACILITY DAMAGE: Competitor(s) responsible for facility damage requiring repair, equipment used/expended, or other services related to a competitor incident that are not covered by SCCA insurance will be billed.
