Get ready for the ultimate driving adventure as the SCCA Targa Southland takes over the Chicago area! This five-day thrill ride is the perfect mix of competition, camaraderie, and pure driving joy across some of the region’s most exciting tracks.
The journey kicks off Wednesday at Autobahn North, where teams will hit the track for their first timed sessions. Thursday, it’s off to Putnam Park, where drivers will push their limits on one of the Midwest’s favorite road courses before heading to Tire Rack headquarters Thursday evening for a special event.
Friday morning, the action shifts to autocross at Tire Rack, where precision and control take center stage. Then it’s back to high-speed laps early Friday afternoon at Gingerman Raceway, where the final round of cumulative lap sessions will put everyone’s skills to the test.
The grand finale happens Saturday at Autobahn South, wrapping up the event in style as part of the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge.
This isn’t just about speed—it’s about balance. Scoring blends lap times, autocross performance, social media engagement, and even peer judging, making for a competition that’s as much about fun as it is about precision. Whether you’re chasing podium glory or just here for the ride, get ready for an unforgettable week on the road with fellow driving fanatics!

FAST FACTS
ON-TRACK
- Event takes place at Autobahn CC South, Putnam Park, Tire Rack Headquarters, Gingerman Raceway, and wraps up at Autobahn CC South as part of the SCCA Tire Rack Time Attack Challenge
- Each team will get two practice and two cumulative lap sessions at the first three tracks, and one practice session and 3 timed sessions per registered driver on Saturday during the Time Attack Challenge.
- Each team will get 6 autocross runs
- Results will be derived from total points earned using a combination of each team's fastest cumulative laps, best autocross run, along with social and peer judged elements. *Organizer reserves the right to reward bonus points for general awesomeness along with any other very valid reasons.
Important note!
- When you register for the Tire Rack SCCA Targa Chicagoland, both you and your car are automatically entered into the Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack Challenge at Autobahn CC—no extra steps needed!
- The required primary co-driver must register separately as a co-driver for the Targa event. If they also want to compete in the Time Attack Challenge, whether in the same car or a different one, they will need to complete a separate registration for that competition.
