SCCA Targa

Before the Tire Rack Time Trials Nationals and the Tire Rack Time Trials National Tour, the SCCA brought forth an all-encompassing event built around street driven cars and multiple formats. These multi-venue events, run in 2016 and 2017 were called "Targa," and entrants participated in Autocross, RoadRally, Track Events, TrackSprint and Time Trials across North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Entrants earned points at each event and winners were crowned overall and in classes loosely based on autocross classes. The events were popular with participants and the response planted the seed that being able to bring the social and teamwork approaches to a competition would be successful for SCCA members. Thus, from Targa, the Time Trials Nationals - and the Time Trials National Tour - was born.
