Looking Ahead: ’23 Georgia Time Trials National Tour Mash-up Finale

Looking Ahead: ’23 Georgia Time Trials National Tour Mash-up Finale

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is world famous. Just a few weeks back, IMSA held its end-of-year Petit Le Mans event at the 2.54-mile circuit, and crowned multiple champions on site when that endurance challenge was done. Now it’s your turn.

It’s time for SCCA® drivers to have a crack at the fantastic facility located in Braselton, GA, during a Nov. 3-5, 2023, “mash-up” weekend centered around the annual American Road Race of Champions (ARRC). The party includes Sunday track time for enthusiasts, SCCA Road Racing, and what we’re here to talk about right now: this year’s final Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty (TTNT).

Registration is open now for the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta Powered by Hagerty.

As the TTNT event schedule reveals, there will be no shortage of track time for participants, and some may appreciate the chance to skedaddle midday Sunday to report to work early Monday. But opportunities exist for even more track time, as well as a chance to experience amazing ARRC competition with friends at a glorious venue.

TTNT drivers in SCCA Road Racing-legal cars looking to max out their weekend may want to consider registering for ARRC competition, or vice versa for ARRC racers desiring the challenge of turning hot laps at qualifying speed in eligible vehicles during TTNT segments of the weekend.

Casual TTNT fun seekers wanting more track time should take advantage of the special Track Event being hosted by Atlanta Region on Sunday. Keep in mind this Track Event is only open to street cars without loud exhaust setups.

Below are a couple quick-link buttons to registration for upcoming SCCA opportunities Nov. 3-5 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

SCCA Time Trials Road Atlanta Records

It was 2020 when TTNT made its debut at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, and the program has been back each year since. That means the SCCA Time Trials Track Records and Personal Bests database has plenty of info on marks to reach – or beat – during the upcoming visit to Braselton. Below is a smattering of those records, listed by car class, driver name, car, and record time around the full course.

Unlimited 1: Eric Fleming, 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, 1:23.789
Max 1: Ian Stewart, 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, 1:28.822
Sport 1: Doug Francis, 2009 Chevrolet Corvette, 1:34.035
Tuner 2: David Marcus, 2020 Toyota Supra, 1:34.701

If you need some help figuring out how Fleming turned his lap at Road Atlanta, just watch the video below over and over and over again. Be sure to turn up the volume to hear the throttle input, and to enjoy the absolutely lovely engine sounds.

That’s All, Folks…Until 2024

The Nov. 3-5 festival at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta will be the last Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour Powered by Hagerty of the year. This is it for 2023, and there’ll be no late additions to schedule.

This is the final shot to be at a Saturday Hagerty Social Party, or Sunday KONI Podium Celebrations. From here on out, there’s nothing but dreaming of next year. So, stop waffling and join the fun! Register now for TTNT right here!

If you’ve never done a TTNT event before and are a little hesitant, just look at all the names documented within the SCCA Time Trials Track Records and Personal Bests database. Each of those people were once newbies, but you’re only a newbie once.

Want to be part of the party but don’t know what to do? Head over to Facebook and join the SCCA Time Trails Nationals social media page. Introduce yourself through a post, then state, “Anyone wanna help a newbie at Road Atlanta?”

After that, all that’s left to do is get ready for an incredible TTNT weekend.
